Every day when you wake up in the morning, you should decide that you will not in any way gamble for the rest of the day. It is okay for you to only gamble on a maximum of one hour on a day as long as you promise that you will reduce that one hour to thirty minutes the next time you gamble and ensure that you keep that promise.

Suppose you Schedule your day in a planned way so that you will not have a lot of free time; it will minimize the time available for you to get tempted into gambling. You can also forbid yourself from going to casinos, visiting gaming websites, or downloading online gaming applications.

2.) Find a Replacement Activity

Find an activity that will replace the activity of your gambling. Go out with friends, go shopping, cook, or even exercise to take your mind off gambling. You can even listen to music and dance while at it, rent a movie or tv programs, or do some reading; just do anything that will keep you busy and take your mind of gambling. You could also pick a new, exciting hobby like welding, swimming, climbing, racing, or biking. The objective of you doing all this is to stop the act of gambling and not fall back into it when you are rid of this addiction
